Course Competencies and Objectives OR Course Competencies and Outline: | Course Competencies: Competency 1 Create and name a worksheet and use Excel menus and toolbars to navigate between worksheets.
Objective 1.1 Enter text, numbers, formulas, and functions that enable the worksheet to organize, calculate, and compile required data. Objective 1.2 Save workbooks in the proper format based on future usage including the use of templates and alternate file types. Objective 1.3 Navigate between workbooks and worksheets using the mouse and/or keyboard shortcuts. Competency 2 Design worksheet layouts and use formulas and functions to perform calculations. Objective 2.1 Use statistical functions including MIN, MAX, MEDIAN, AVERAGE, COUNT, and SUM in a worksheet. Objective 2.2 Prepare financial data and functions to calculate payments, future values, and Interest. Objective 2.3 Use relative and absolute references to successfully copy and move formulas and functions. Objective 2.4 Create an IF function to perform calculations dependent on formula arguments. Competency 3 Utilize Excel functionality to format worksheets. Objective 3.1 Change font type, size, style, and color of values within cells and conditional formatting. Objective 3.2 Use AutoFormat to change cell borders and backgrounds. Objective 3.3 Add headers and footers to worksheets. Objective 3.4 Set page breaks and print areas.
