Need Statement: | Network, Systems, and Desktop Support faculty from across the District engaged in the pathway mapping process to identify a shared pathway in Network Administration and Support, which included the development of a shared AAS in Networking as well as shared embedded CCLs. Holistic program learning outcomes that reflect all that students should be able to know and do upon achieving this degree were developed and the alignment of the degree and certificates with current industry needs was enhanced.
Impact: Replacing the following programs which will be scheduled for deletion Summer 2020: 5909 SC 5026 CG, EM 5867 PV 5997 MC 5473 EM, GC, PV 5841 EM, GW 5215 RS Approved Feasibility Plan: Not required. This is an existing program being consolidated into one shared program. Gainful employment data was reviewed to inform the offering colleges on this program as is reflected in the SOC codes. All sharing colleges designated mapping representatives and the Instructional Council approve of the modifications. This is a growing, high-demand field with many opportunities throughout the valley. Since the colleges were already offering a variety of awards within a same or similar this area no negative impact should befall the currently sharing colleges through consolidation. Feasibility - SC, EM, PV, MC, GC, GW, CG are all deleting programs to join in this new shared CCL. This meets the following exceptions to feasibility - New shared CCL or AAS for the purpose of consolidating existing CCL or AAS programs in the same or a similar CIP Code. PC and SM would like to offer this CCL. They offer CCL 5204N Linux Professional in in a similar CIP Code where the courses in this CCL embed. 5204N CCL will be deleted so PC and SM can join a new shared pathway CCL 5039N Computer System Configuration and Support, Linux which embeds into AAS 3189 Network and Systems Administration within the same CIP code and where this new CCL 5044N embeds. This meets the following exceptions to feasibility - New shared CCL or AAS for the purpose of consolidating existing CCL or AAS programs in the same or a similar CIP Code AND New CCL that has 70% or more of the credits embedded into an existing AAS program at the initiating college in the same or a similar CIP Code. |
