Description: The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Real Estate prepares students to become accredited financial planners. The program emphasizes tax and investment management, securities, insurance, pension plans, and real estate. Completion of the certificate and several years of related experience qualify the students to sit for the national Certified Financial Planner (CFP) exam, administered by the International Board of Standards and Practices for Certified Financial Planners, Inc. (IBCFP).

2. Explain principles of real estate relating to ownership, legal principles, procedures and methods of acquisition and disposition of real estate. (REA281)
3. Describe different types of lending institutions, including banks, saving and loans, conventional loans, Federal Housing Administration (FHA), and Veterans Affairs (VA) for residential, commercial, and industrial property. (REA282)
4. Explain realty laws, survey of rentals, housing needs, and rentals in the Phoenix metropolitan area. (REA283)
5. Explain concepts of obtaining listings, buyer behavior, markets, competition, and psychology of sales techniques. (REA285)
6. Explain principles of real estate investments, financing, leverage benefits, and risks that apply to residential, commercial, and industrial properties for direct and group ownership. (REA288)
7. Explain advanced real estate concepts that include: closing costs and escrow, liens, leases, ethical standards, water rights, hazardous waste issues, and principle-agent relationship. (REA180)
8. Gather, evaluate and recognize market conditions affecting buyers and sellers and reporting values for markets, sub-markets, supply/demand analysis and market segmentation. (REA273).
9. Apply the cost approach for new and resale properties using appropriate theories and methodologies for obtaining residential site values. (REA274)
10. Describe real property concepts, characteristics, legal aspects, and other economic principles and appraisal ethics in practice. (REA270)
11. Analyze the valuation of procedures and property description for residential and commercial applications through use of practical applications and appraisal math. (REA271)
