Description: The Certificate of Completion (CCL) in Automotive Engine and Drive Trains program is designed to provide students with skills needed by technicians specialized in the maintenance and repair of automotive engines and drive trains. This course grouping also helps prepare the student for the Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) certification tests for engine repair, automatic transmissions and transaxles, and manual drive train and axles.

Program Competencies
1. Describe the operation of typical lubrication, cooling, fuel, and exhaust systems used on automotive vehicles. (AUT101AA, AUT106AA)
2. Be able to perform service and overhaul procedures to an automotive internal combustion engine. (AUT101AA, AUT106AA)
3. Identify and explain the operation of the major components of the drive train (FWD and RWD). (AUT110AC, AUT123AA)
4. Check and replace clutch discs, universal joints, bearings, boots, gears, and other serviceable components. (AUT110AC)
5. Service, remove, overhaul, and replace an automatic transmission. (AUT123AA)
