EMT104 requires students to complete additional hours in a competency-based clinical, vehicular, and/or scenario based experience. Depending on the college, this may be completed through EMT104AB or program director-approved rotation.
Admission Criteria: Minimum tenth grade level reading proficiency as demonstrated by appropriate Reading placement exam.
A written application, written and skills-based testing, and in-person interview with the Program Director must be completed prior to admission into the GCC program. Application and further details are available online through the department`s website. Students should plan to have completed the application process at least 8 weeks before the start of 200-level courses.

EMT296WC is required course for students in Paramedicine program at GCC. Students not meeting minimum credit prerequisites for EMT296WC (12 or more college credits with GPA of 2.6 or higher) will need to obtain permission of program director to enroll. EMT296WC may be waived by program director on a case-by-case basis for students working part-time or full-time for an out-of-hospital pre-hospital provider.
General education course(s) listed for Terms 3 and/or 5 could be taken during Term 2 if student is exempt from Critical Reading course by assessment.
Applications for admission to program are available online and must be completed during this term in order for student to begin advanced coursework in Term 3. Deadline for completion of admission process is at least eight weeks prior to the start of Term 3. See application packet for specific dates.
