Students must complete a minimum of 20 credits from CAC. The Associate of Applied Science Degree requires a minimum of 64 credits. |
Program Measurable Student Learning Outcomes |
1. (Evaluation Level) Relate and explain the history, tools and how safety requirements of the drywall/lath trade evolved, including critiquing various scenarios to identify concerns which could be sited by an Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) inspector on the job site.
2. (Evaluation Level) Create and critique projects which require interpretation and analysis of construction blueprints, technical calculations, tools, construction and welding techniques, and critiques based on the Drywall/Lath Trades regulations and state, county and city/township building codes. 3. (Evaluation Level) Create a plan to meet client specifications, including building site, layout, detailed plan for drywall/lath and trim installation and construction techniques and pertinent building details. 4. (Analysis Level) Analyze the job requirements then demonstrate: a) rigging practices, hand signals, ropes, slings, hitches and splicing related to rigging operations at the jobsite; b) proper installation of interior systems, including drywall, trims and ceilings using scaffolding or other equipment, clean rooms, doors and hardware; and c) framing techniques for drywall/lath and trims. 5. (Application Level) Demonstrate reading, mathematics, critical thinking and communication skills obtained through completion of general education requirements. |

Students will adhere to the current apprenticeship standards as developed by the Arizona State Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.
