Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Knowledge Level) Define type 1, type 2 and gestational diabetes.
2. (Analysis Level) Analyze and explain the importance of monitoring blood glucose levels, urine ketones, food intake and activity levels to help normalize blood glucose values and making adjustments as needed.
3. (Application Level) Demonstrate how meal plans are developed to meet nutritional needs during and after pregnancy.
4. (Analysis Level) Examine and explain the importance of continued good eating and exercise habits after delivery to help prevent the development of type 2 diabetes later in life.
