Description: An intense study of gastrointestinal nutrition, etiology, mechanisms, symptoms and management. Prior knowledge of metabolic nutrition and chemistry is recommended.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Synthesis Level) Investigate, synthesize the information and explain the anatomy, diagnostics, assessment and nutrition of the GI tract.
2. (Analysis Level) Examine and describe the effects of nutrition on GI tract disorders including liver and endocrine disorders, oncology, surgery and systemic disorders.
3. (Evaluation Level) Evaluate and recommend therapeutic interventions for GI tract disorders.
