Description: An overview of coaching methods, emphasizing both competitive and recreational settings and practical applications of concepts.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Knowledge Level) Identify the organizational skills a coach utilizes to ensure a successful program.
2. (Comprehension Level) Describe and discuss the educational value of the development of diversity while coaching participants.
3. (Comprehension Level) Discuss how the value of full participation affects the outcome of competition for the team and individual.
4. (Comprehension Level) Identify and discuss the different methods utilized in coaching competitive and recreational sports.
5. (Comprehension Level) Identify and discuss standard rules in a sport of choice.
6. (Application Level) Demonstrate and apply a sport specific skill, broken down into teachable segments.
7. (Comprehension Level) Describe and discuss the components of an effective practice plan.
