Description: Bridged area and breakthrough repairs using geotextiles and soil stabilization, including testing soils for proper compaction and compaction methods.

Prerequisites: Student must be sponsored by an AGC contractor to enroll.

1. (Comprehension Level) Describe the procedure for repairing bridged areas and breakthroughs.
2. (Comprehension Level) Explain the requirements for soil stabilization and the procedure for carrying out the stabilization process.
3. (Comprehension Level) Explain the requirements for using geotextile materials and the process for applying geotextiles.

Internal/External Standards Accreditation
Per National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Standards:
1. Successfully complete Soils III Module Examination #22307 with a score of at least 70%.
2. Performance Profile Tasks. Students will:
a) Demonstrate proper set up of geotextile material for sediment control and for lining a small under-drain.
b) Interpret results from a field density test and identify additional compaction required.
