Description: An introduction to the structure, tools, and terminology of the Internet relating to web browsers, email, search engines, communications, security, and e-commerce.

Recommendations: Basic computer skills including file management.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Knowledge Level) Describe web navigation, addressing, URLs, cookies, bookmarks, and other main features and terminology common to web browsers.
2. (Application Level) Demonstrate sending and receiving email messages; uploading and downloading attachments; and creating and organizing contacts.
3. (Evaluation Level) Appraise search engines and the information retrieved.
4. (Comprehension Level) Discuss various types of internet communication, related privacy and security issues, and netiquette.
5. (Comprehension Level) Review internet security threats and countermeasures.
