Description: Real world scenarios for student application of knowledge and skills building in data content, insurance systems, billing processes, clinical vocabularies, ethical and legal issues and computer applications.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Evaluation Level) Compare discrepancies between coded data and supporting documentation.
2. (Application Level) Identify and appropriately use reimbursement methodologies to code data.
3. (Evaluation Level) Validate the coded data collected for appropriate reimbursement.
4. (Application Level) Recognize and employ information and communication technologies to include common software applications (such as word processing; spreadsheets; e-mail; and the like) in the execution of work processes.
