Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate knowledge of how computers work.
2. Describe how computers can best serve the various school administrative functions.
3. Understand the components necessary for automating a school administrative function.
4. Build a LAN (Local Area Network) and WAN (Wide Area Network).
5. Select the appropriate software for the various administrative functions.
6. Demonstrate the process for securing computer hardware and software.
Internal/External Standards Accreditation
1. Student will define various terms and computer vocabulary after participating in an exercise on how a computer works.
2. Student will identify the various uses of computers in school administration after participating in small group discussions to identify various administrative functions.
3. Student will correctly identify and explain various peripheral equipment that may be connected to the CPU and their functions.
4. Student will be able to build a LAN and WAN network after building a plan on paper in a group project and presenting the plan to the class.
5. Student will be able to select the appropriate software for the various administrative functions after learning the various modules in Microsoft Office.
6. Student will develop an RFP for purchasing hardware and software and prepare a presentation to the school board.
