Description: A focused study of a given country and its people, involving a survey of significant cultural and societal aspects of that country. The selected country will vary.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Analysis Level) Identify and analyze the major cultural and societal characteristics of the selected country.
2. (Evaluation Level) Describe and critique the underlying causes of the evolution of that society and culture.
3. (Analysis Level) Research specific elements unique to that culture.
4. (Evaluation Level) Identify elements that are common to both the culture under study and the mainstream American culture.
5. (Evaluation Level) Compare and contrast varying interpretations of the culture under study.

This course is recommended by the CAC International Studies Program to support existing and future faculty exchange programs with foreign colleges and universities.
