Description: Introduction to the Drywall/Lath Apprenticeship Program, including hand tools, power/powder tools, math, beginning blueprint reading and layout. Certification for scaffold erector (welded frame, mobile tower) and low velocity powder actuated tools will be earned.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Comprehension Level) Identify and explain the rules and regulations of apprenticeship.
2. (Comprehension Level) Identify and explain the benefits and responsibilities of Unionism.
3. (Application Level) Explain and apply trade related mathematics.
4. (Comprehension Level) Describe elements of blueprint reading.
5. (Comprehension Level) Explain use of general, hand tools and power/powder tools.
6. (Application Level) Demonstrate the ability to operate hand tools and power/powder tools.
Internal/External Standards Accreditation
1. Acquire certification in use of low velocity powder actuated tools.
2. Acquire certification for scaffold erector (welded frame)operation.
3. Pass written exams with score of at least 80%.
4. Perform all practical tasks with at least 80% accuracy.
5. Adhere to the current Apprenticeship Standards as developed by the Arizona State Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.
