Description: This course will primarily focus on Health and Safety certifications, safety and math. Certifications will be earned in Forklift, Aerial Lift, OSHA 10 and First Aid/CPR.

Prerequisites: Program Director consent

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Application Level) Demonstrate safe use of general hand tools and power/powder tools.
2. (Application Level) Operate a forklift and aerial lift safely.
3. (Application Level) Apply the tenets of OSHA and First Aid/CPR.
4. (Application Level) Use trade related math to perform various computations.
Internal/External Standards Accreditation
1. Acquire certification for OSHA 10.
2. Acquire certification for American Red Cross CPR/First Aid.
3. Acquire forklift certification.
4. Acquire aerial lift certification.
5. Pass written exams with score of at least 80%.
6. Perform all practical tasks with at least 80% accuracy.
7. Adhere to the current Apprenticeship Standards as developed by the Arizona State Carpenters Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee.
