Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. Write objective, fair and accurate straight news stories in the inverted pyramid style.
2. Accurately write and edit print media text to conform with current Associated Press style.
3. Identify and gather factual information that comprises the basic elements of news.
4. Conduct interviews with news sources in a professional manner as part of the news gathering process.
5. Practice news gathering and reporting with an awareness of legal and ethical standards as they apply to the print media.
