Description: Honors students and faculty work closely together on in-depth projects outside of the regular curriculum. The Honors Project is developed and research is shared through in-depth discussion, analysis and presentation of findings. Required for Honors students in the 18-hour academic transfer program. Must be taken concurrently with each content course taken for Honors credit.

Prerequisites: HNR204, ENG101 and Honors cohort student

Corequisites: HNR205, ENG102 and each content course for Honors credit

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Evaluation Level) Select an appropriate topic and devise an extended academic project relative to the content course taken for Honors credit.
2. (Evaluation Level) Critically compare and appraise the value, credibility and objectivity of source materials in support of creating a research or creative project.
3. (Analysis Level) Proficiently examine, select and apply appropriate and varied source materials that relate directly to a discipline-specific research or creative project.
4. (Synthesis Level) Design and develop an extended academic research or creative project that demonstrates the ability to collect, interpret and integrate evidence.
5. (Application Level) Produce and translate an extended written and oral academic project that shows critical thinking and research skills and the accurate employment of standard English conventions and citations.
6. (Evaluation Level) Synthesize, summarize and support critical analysis within a project and demonstrate the ability to orally present a research or creative project.
7. (Synthesis Level) Revise and edit discourse effectively based on oral and written feedback from peers and instructors.
