Description: Automotive repair of electrical accessory circuits and an introduction to electronics including body computers, advanced lighting circuits and instrumentation, and chassis electronic control systems. Coursework includes training in diagnosis, testing, service and repair of electrical accessories.


Prerequisites: AUT102 or Instructor consent

Corequisites: None

Recommendations: Course is required by Arizona Department of Corrections by contract.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Evaluation Level) Demonstrate the ability to diagnose, test, service, and repair the following:
- all electrical accessory circuits
- BCM (Body Control Module) circuits
- actuators and sensors
- computer-controlled headlights
- illuminated entry systems
- electronic cruise control systems
- electronic sunroofs
- electronic suspension systems
- anti-lock brake system
- auto seat belt systems
- automatic traction control systems
2. (Evaluation Level) Access and operate Body Control Module (BCM) diagnostic systems. Using the BCM (Body Control Module) diagnostic systems, students will accurately diagnose, test, service, and repair electronic instrumentation systems, electronic cruise control systems, automatic seat belt systems, air bag systems, electronic seat memory systems, electronic sunroofs, vehicle alarm systems, automatic door lock systems, keyless entry systems, heated windshield systems, electronic control suspension systems, anti-lock brake system, electronic controls, and automatic traction control systems.
