Description: An introduction to the use of Adobe Illustrator design tool and to the place of illustration in a web or print design. Prerequisite: RDG094.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Application Level) Operate and navigate the illustration software Adobe Illustrator to create illustrations, logos and typographic designs.
2. (Application Level) Use the various tool palettes to create basic shapes for illustrations.
3. (Application Level) Create artwork using the pen tool and other drawing tools for professional designs.
4 (Application Level) Use stroke, color fills, gradients, transparency and blending modes to enhance designs and produce CD covers, posters, clip art and advertisements.
5. (Comprehension Level) Identify materials on the Internet that can be incorporated into professional design.
6. (Comprehension Level) Explain 3D design and its best uses.
