1. (Application Level) Describe and demonstrate how the individual elements of the communication process including encoding, decoding, message, noise, context, and channels contribute to a transactional exchange. 2. (Application Level) Explain the importance of selecting and narrowing a topic to the success of a presentation and demonstrate the ability to appropriately frame a topic. 3. (Application Level) Describe how audience perceptions and situational expectations affect the reception of the speaker's presentation. Division Required Standards:
Students must deliver presentations in-person to an audience of at least 8 people. Required cumulative total of presentations must be a minimum of 20 minutes. 1.Minimum number of presentations is four. 2.Of the four presentations, at least one must be informative and at least one must be persuasive. 3.Of the four presentations, at least three must require the following: - -An outlined preparation - -Integration of researched information - -Appropriate use of visual aids. |
