Description: Introduction to Building Analyst and Energy Audit Training, including residential energy consumption devices, maintenance and safety issues, conservation, and projected savings. May lead to Building Performance Institute (BPI) Building Analyst Certification.

Recommendations: Demand for course from external stakeholders. Central Arizona Association of Governments CAAG is executing a grant for certified energy audit training in Pinal and Gila counties.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Analysis Level) Identify and execute the process for a complete residential energy audit.
2. (Comprehension Level) Identify the type, size, condition, and rate of energy consumption for each major energy using device.
3. (Synthesis Level) Formulate and recommend appropriate energy conservation, operation, and maintenance procedures according to BPI and Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) guidelines.
4. (Analysis Level) Estimate labor and material costs for energy retrofits.
5. (Synthesis Level) Prepare an accurate document estimating savings expected from energy retrofits.
6. (Analysis Level) Appraise current and potential health and safety problems and how they may be affected by proposed changes.
