Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Synthesis Level) Perform the basic operations with polynomials, including add, subtract, multiply, and divide.
2. (Application Level) Apply the laws of exponents, such as squared, cubed, to the power of X based on nested or compound operations, to simplify problems involving the product and/or quotient of expressions with exponents and to express answers without any negative exponents.
3. (Application Level) Evaluate problems involving scientific notation, including converting numbers expressed as scientific notation to standard notation and vice versa.
4. (Application Level) Solve variation problems, by applying the formulas for direct and inverse variation to set up and solve variation problems.
5. (Application Level) Utilize various factoring techniques to completely factor polynomials, using mathematical concepts such as the Greatest Common Factor and grouping techniques.
6. (Application Level) Perform the basic operations with rational expressions, including determining the domain and range of rational expressions.
7. (Application Level) Construct linear models and graphs given multiple representations of the function and describe trends and predictions for a given data set.
8. (Evaluation Level) Describe the rate of change of a linear function.
9. (Application Level) Solve Systems of linear equations applying a function in other forms.
10. (Application Level) Graph linear equations and inequalities in the Cartesian Coordinate Plane.
11. (Comprehension Level) Given a list of mathematical terms, identify similar algebraic terminology.
