Description: Fundamentals of volleyball sport officiating techniques and mechanics. Techniques and mechanics are based on National Federation High School Rules.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Knowledge level) Describe the rules of volleyball as defined by the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS).
2. (Application level) Demonstrate the mechanics of officiating applicable to the rules of volleyball.
3. (Comprehension level) Describe the role of the official in competitive volleyball.
4. (Knowledge level) Identify the responsibilities of a volleyball official in working as a member of an officiating team.
5. (Comprehension level) Discuss appropriate pre-game, in-game and post-game interactions with coaches and players.
Internal/External Standards Accreditation
1. Perform satisfactory (80%) or better on all written assignments related to the rules of volleyball as defined by the NFHS.
2. Perform satisfactory (80%) or better on all written assignments related to the appropriate physical mechanics of a volleyball official.
3. Demonstrate the ability to apply the rules and mechanics in a mock, scrimmage or live volleyball with a minimum 70% accuracy.
