Description: Fundamentals of soccer officiating techniques and mechanics. Techniques and mechanics are based on National Federation High School Rules.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Knowledge level) Describe the rules of soccer as defined by the National Federation of High Schools (NFHS).
2. (Application level) Demonstrate the mechanics of officiating applicable to the rules of soccer.
3. (Comprehension level) Describe the role of the official in competitive soccer.
4. (Knowledge) Identify the responsibilities of a soccer official in working as a member of an officiating team.
5. (Comprehension) Discuss appropriate pre-game, in-game and post-game interactions with coaches and players.
Internal/External Standards Accreditation
1. Perform satisfactory (80%) or better on all written assignments related to the rules of soccer as defined by the NFHS.
2. Perform satisfactory (80%) or better on all written assignments related to the appropriate physical mechanics of a soccer official.
3. Demonstrate the ability to apply the rules and mechanics in a mock, scrimmage or live soccer game with a minimum 70% accuracy.
