Description: Advanced operator training on motor graders and telescoping excavators.

Prerequisites: Student must be sponsored by an AGC contractor to enroll.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
MOTOR GRADERS:
1. (Synthesis level) Perform basic earth moving and grading with a motor grader.

TELESCOPING EXCAVATORS:
2. (Synthesis level) Perform basic maneuvers with a telescoping excavator.
3. (Synthesis level) Perform basic earth moving and excavating operations with a telescoping excavator.

Internal/External Standards Accreditation
Per National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Standards; URL: http://www.nccer.org/assessments.aspx:
1. Successfully complete Operator Competency Profile Evaluation of identified tasks at a minimum of a level III on all assigned machines.
2. Complete all required time cards and listing of work performed.
3. File on-the-job hours report.

MOTOR GRADERS:
Performance Profile Tasks. Students will:
a) Demonstrate the proper procedures for the pre-start check of a motor grader.
b) Perform maneuvers with the motor grader, including moving forward, moving backward, and turning.
c) Grade a rough grade by following grade stakes placed along a 100' section.

TELESCOPING EXCAVATORS:
Performance Profile Tasks. Students will:
a) Perform a pre-start daily inspection of a telescoping excavator.
b) Perform the basic maneuvers of moving forward, turning, and moving backward.
c) Use a telescoping excavator to smooth the in-slope and back-slope of a 20' open ditch.
