1. (Knowledge) Identify the characteristics of young children in order to help prevent accidents.
2. (Comprehension) Describe a safe indoor and outdoor environment for children that includes staff members' responsibilities and developmentally appropriate rules and limits for children.
3. (Comprehension) Explain essential emergency procedures in an early care and education program.
4. (Analysis) Identify and describe indications of child abuse and neglect, and steps to follow if abuse/neglect is suspected, including the mandatory reporting procedures.
