Description: Nutrition, exercise, health related and sports related fitness including: the essential nutrients and the recommended nutrient intake for fitness and sport, weight maintenance through proper nutrition, and exercise for health and sport.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes

2. (Knowledge/comprehension level) Identify and discuss the inter-relationship between nutrition, exercise, and sports-related fitness.
3. (Comprehension/application level) Explain and relate the effects of dietary supplements on health and on physical performance.
4. (Knowledge/comprehension level) Identify and discuss the human energy systems.

1. Perform with a minimum accuracy of 70% on all written assignments and quizzes covering nutrition, exercise, human energy systems, nutrients, supplements and fitness.
2. Create a project incorporating the links between nutrition, human energy systems, and peak levels of exercise.
3. Create exercise and nutritional plans that provide healthy weight maintenance, weight loss and weight gain.
