Description: Sports Safety Training, CPR, and AED for the Professional Rescuer including soft tissue and skeletal injury prevention, first aid, and emergency steps for breathing and cardiac care.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Application/Knowledge level) Demonstrate and describe proper Adult CPR techniques.
2. (Application/Knowledge level) Demonstrate and describe appropriate techniques when assessing and treating injuries including shock, bleeding control, dressings and bandages, bone and joint injuries.
3. (Application/Knowledge level) Demonstrate and describe appropriate techniques when assessing and treating adult life threatening emergencies including rescue breathing, choking, and emergency rescue and transport.
4. (Knowledge level) Describe appropriate techniques when assessing and treating sudden illness including poisoning, seizures, fainting, diabetic coma (hyperglycemia), insulin reaction (hypoglycemia), and bites and stings.
5. (Knowledge level) Describe appropriate techniques when assessing and treating burns.
6. (Knowledge level) Describe appropriate techniques when assessing and treating conditions related to environmental considerations including frostbite and cold exposure, heat stroke, cramps, and heat exhaustion.
7. (Application/Knowledge level) Demonstrate and describe appropriate techniques for responding to breathing and cardiac emergencies in adults, children and infants, including two-rescuer CPR, and the use of resuscitation masks and bag-valve masks.
8. (Application/Knowledge level) Demonstrate and describe the use of body substance isolation precautions to prevent disease transmission.
9. (Application/Knowledge level) Demonstrate and describe how to use an Automatic External Defibrillator (AED) for a victim of sudden cardiac arrest.
