Description: Use of modern technology in gathering and processing information, written reports and techniques of police radio use.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. (Knowledge Level) Identify procedures and techniques for transmitting and receiving information over the police radio.
2. (Knowledge Level) Identify the information that should be included in the broadcast from a crime scene.
3. (Knowledge Level) Identify the information that should be included when reporting descriptions of persons over the radio.
4. (Knowledge Level) Identify the information contained in law enforcement information systems and the procedures and restrictions with respect to accessing each system.
Internal/External Standards Accreditation
1. Conduct several brief radio transmissions using the phonetic alphabet and common radio codes, while in compliance with the FCC regualtions.
2. Collect and compose needed information to broadcast; such as, the type of incident, description of suspect, weapons used, and vehicle.
3. Compose and transmit description of suspect including gender, race, age, height, weight, clothing, hair, and eye color.
4. Apply standards for each system: ALETS, ACIC, ACCH, LEJIS, NCIC, NLETS, OBSCIS, and MVD.
5. Cadets will achieve a score of 70% on state mandated exams as required by the current standards of POST.
