Description: An in-depth study into the eight limbs of yoga including the physical poses, breathing and meditation techniques, along with yoga's history and philosophy. Different yoga styles will be introduced.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
At the end of this lesson, you will be able to:

1. (Analysis Level) Examine the eight limbs of yoga.

2. (Evaluation Level) Summarize yoga procedures, precautions, and benefits of breathing techniques.

3. (Evaluation Level) Summarize yoga procedures, precautions, and benefits of meditation techniques.

4. (Evaluation Level) Summarize yoga procedures, precautions, and benefits of physical poses.

5. (Evaluation Level) Compare and contrast the various styles of yoga and their benefits.

6. (Comprehension Level) Discuss the history and philosophy of yoga.

2. Perform the basic series of poses utilizing the twelve-step Sun Salutation A with 90% accuracy.

3. Perform and orally present research on two basic breathing techniques and list two precautions and two benefits with 90% accuracy.

4. Perform and orally present research on two basic meditation techniques and list two precautions and two benefits with 90% accuracy.

5. Perform and orally present research on five basic physical poses and list two precautions and two benefits of each with 90% accuracy.

6. Correctly respond to instructor assigned written and/or oral evaluations of two different styles of yoga and two benefits of each with 90% accuracy.

7. Correctly respond to instructor assigned written and/or oral evaluations of the history and philosophy of yoga with 90% accuracy.
