Description: Listening, reading, speaking and writing skills for adult ESOL learners with advanced English language skills.

Prerequisites: ESL084 or pre-test to determine that existing skill level is appropriate.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
At completion of this course, students will be able to:
Demonstrate comprehension of vocabulary used in ESOL V functions and grammatical structures in a variety of spoken contexts.
Demonstrate comprehension of vocabulary used in ESOL V functions and grammatical structures in written form, including formal and informal texts.
Produce oral language in different communicative contexts, applying vocabulary used in ESOL V functions and grammatical structures and demonstrate accuracy and fluency while incorporating phonological cues.
Write multi-paragraph essays with a clear introduction and development of ideas in different communicative contexts while applying vocabulary used in ESOL V functions, grammatical structures and mechanics.
Analyze point of view.
Demonstrate command of verbs in the affirmative, negative and interrogative of the past perfect progressive and future perfect progressive tenses.
Apply structural analysis to interpret and build vocabulary.
Demonstrate knowledge of and apply idiomatic expressions.
Demonstrate command of passive voice.
