Description: This class is designed to improve/master rhythmic breathing along with stroke coordination, speed- and flip- turns, distance swimming and endurance training, water entries, diving starts, and/or other skills as desired by students to further enhance skills for competition or fitness swimming. May be taken four times for credit.

Prerequisites: Ability to swim freestyle (or other stroke)

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. Demonstrate rhythmic breathing with stroke coordination for 1600 meters (1 mile).
2. Demonstrate speed- and flip-turns with proper technique.
3. Demonstrate multiple water entries and diving starts with proper form and technique.
4. Develop an individualized training regimen to meet participant-stated goals and objectives.
Internal/External Standards Accreditation
1. Complete the swimming portion of a fitness event.
2. Maintain or decrease one's personal record time in specific swimming event(s).
