Description: A concentrated approach to golf skills with emphasis on individual skill level. May be taken two times for credit.

Prerequisites: PAC 101a or appropriate experience

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. Discuss the game of golf, rules of golf, golf course etiquette and play.
2. Demonstrate and discuss pre-shot basics including grip, stance and posture, body alignment, simple swing drills, and the pre-shot routine.
3. Demonstrate and discuss back swing basics including take away, half back swing, pivot and weight shift, and top of the back swing.
4. Demonstrate and discuss forward swing basics including swing speed and tension level, down swing, club face rotation, swing path and finish.
5. Demonstrate and discuss short game basics including putting, chipping and pitching.
6. Demonstrate and discuss specialized shots including sand play, hitting a fade, draw, high and low shot.
7. Discuss playing and practice basics including playing tips, practice tips and exercise guidelines.
8. Demonstrate and describe how these shots can be performed incorrectly and how to correct faulty shots.
Internal/External Standards Accreditation
Students will successfully complete the success goals as indicated in the Teaching Golf, Step to Success with less than the maximum number of errors indicated in the established standards.
