Description: Skills and abilities required for entry level position in the fire service including physical ability and stamina. Students have the opportunity to take the International Association of Fire Fighters (IAFF) Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) at the end of the course.

2. Identify the five components of physical fitness.
3. Explain the five basic exercise principles.
4. Identify and explain the four main concepts of cardiopulmonary endurance.

6. Identify the mental aspects of performance.
7. Explain the events and purpose of the Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT).
