Description: Preparing copy and photographs for campus publications. May be taken four times for credit.

Measurable Student Learning Outcomes
1. List the activities that contribute to the production of a print media publication.
2. Explore and describe the function of a publication editor or manager.
3. Contrast and compare the contributions of various publication departments including news, art, production, circulation and business.
4. List the activities of the copy editor, advertising salesperson, designer and production staff.
5. Describe Associated Press gudelines, including the rules of libel and slander.
Internal/External Standards Accreditation
1. Participate in staff meetings to develop story plans and assignments for a print publication.
2. Contribute to at least two departments of news publication.
3. Use Associated Press guidelines, including the laws about libel and slander.
4. Write, edit and revise news stories for publication.
