Description: The Associate in Applied Science (AAS) in Construction Trades: Carpentry program is designed to provide a well-rounded education to the journeyman carpenter/student that will enable that student to advance in the construction industry.

2. Examine building site, layout, installation, and construction techniques used in concrete formwork of walls, columns, beams, decks, and retaining walls in residential and heavy construction. 8. Read construction blueprints and explain common principles, practices and symbols for print reading. (CRP114AA, CRP114AB)
9. Discuss Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, regarding assembly, access, and dismantling of scaffolding. (CRP212AA, OSH106)
10. Demonstrate use of leveling instruments, and rods, for linear, and angular measurements. (CRP212AB)
11. Demonstrate safe rigging practices, hand signals, ropes, slings, hitches, splicing, as it relates to rigging operations at the jobsite. (CRP212AC)
