Description: Continued development of skills in conversational Italian for effective communication. A review of grammar including the extensive use of grammatical concepts. Continued development of vocabulary. Intensified study of Italian life and culture

1. Pronounce words using correct intonation and stress. (I)
2. Use correct Italian syntax in sentences and questions. (II)
3. Converse in Italian in areas of familiar topics. (III)
4. Create role-playings in Italian for specific situations. (III)
5. Use the imperfect and pluperfect subjunctive tenses correctly. (IV)
6. Demonstrate use of the if clause with subjunctive and conditional tenses. (IV)
7. Demonstrate correct usage of the preterit tense. (IV)
8. Summarize Italian short stories and journalistic readings accurately. (V)
9. Describe and discuss the customs and culture of Italy. (V, VI)
10. Identify important facts in recent Italian history. (V, VI)
11. Discuss and analyze Italian-language films. (VII)
