Description: Flight experience in an airplane to meet flight proficiency and aeronautical experience requirements necessary to add a multi-engine rating to an existing Flight Instructor-Airplane certificate.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Demonstrate instructional knowledge regarding certificates and documents, multi-engine airplane systems, and systems and limitations specific to the aircraft being flown. (I)
2. Demonstrate understanding of the Aviation Safety Program(s) and Flight Operations Safety Policies and Procedures. (I)
3. Demonstrate instructional knowledge and proficiency in the performance elements involved in multi-engine maneuvers and procedures appropriate for two engine operations. (II-IV)
4. Demonstrate understanding of how to determine proper descent planning needed for higher performance aircraft. (II-IV)
5. Demonstrate instructional knowledge and proficiency in two engine abnormal and emergency procedures. (V)
6. Demonstrate instructional knowledge and proficiency in one engine inoperative abnormal and emergency procedures. (VI)
7. Demonstrate instructional knowledge and practice teaching normal, crosswind and shortfield takeoffs and climbs, maneuvering during slow flight and stalls, and normal, crosswind and short-field approaches and landings. (III-IV)
8. Identify common student errors and suggest proper corrective action. (III-IV)
9. Demonstrate instructional knowledge and practice teaching maneuvering with one engine inoperative, Visual Meteorological Conditions (VMC) demonstration and demonstrate the effects of various airspeeds and configurations during engine inoperative performance. (II,III,VI)
10. Demonstrate instructional knowledge on the Areas of operations outlined in the Multi-Engine Instructor Practical Test Standards (I-VI)
