1. Discuss first impressions when starting your new job including attendance, punctuality, attitude, and company/workplace culture. (I)
2. Identify factors for building a strong relationship with your supervisor including knowing and understanding supervisor expectations, avenues and styles of communication body language, and workplace politics. (II) 3. Use group activities to demonstrate how to manage difficult situations, understand body language, use tone of voice, and respond appropriately to supervision. (III) 4. Discuss teamwork including tips for getting along with co-workers, becoming a team player, teaching others, and building a work crew. (IV) 5. Use role-playing exercises to demonstrate getting to know your co-workers, becoming a team player, teaching effectively, building a work crew and designing a team project. (V) 6. Examine diversity in the workplace including communications styles, cultural differences, tolerance factors, benefits, and potential problems. (VI) 7. Use individual activities to expand your awareness of cultural diversity and examine differences in communication styles between men and women. (VII) 8. Use group activities to empathize with differences, understand diversity in yourself and others, stand in another`s shoes, and deal with language diversity. (VII) | |||
