Description: Optional laboratory designed to accompany PSY101. Application of psychological principles in areas such as learning, memory, emotion, motivation, cognition, language, development, personality, and intelligence



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Compare and contrast the major schools of psychology. (I)
2. Describe the major research methods of psychology. (I)
3. Describe the relationship between basic nervous system components, processes, and behavior. (II)
4. Name and describe the basic concepts in sensation and perception. (III)
5. Describe the components and processes of the major theories of learning and memory. (IV)
6. Identify practical applications of the theories of cognition and language. (V)
7. Differentiate among emotion, motives, needs, drives, and incentives and describe their applications to human behavior. (VI)
8. Describe the psychological principles involved in development, personality, intelligence, and social issues. (VII)
