Description: Introduction to concepts and techniques of Fine Art Papermaking. Basic overview of historical origins of craft and importance of modern papermaking to fine arts



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Identify the historical origins and applications of Papermaking. (I)
2. Define the common terms used in Fine Art Papermaking. (II)
3. Demonstrate Frame construction and basic Sheet making. (III)
4. Design and use a personal watermark. (IV)
5. List the techniques to achieve a variety of textures by screening the surface. (III)
6. Collect and assemble a reference book of Fine Art Papers. (V)
7. Curate an edition of Handmade paper. (VI)
