Description: Communication of concepts through visual symbolism and expression



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Compare and use visual communication techniques. (I)
2. Describe fundamental visual symbolism systems. (II)
3. Describe various expressions of visual symbols. (III)
4. Compare and describe visual concepts, including cultural, ceremonial, and personal perspectives. (IV)
5. Visit art museums and/or exhibitions, and use library and electronic resources to research examples of visual symbolism. (V)
6. Create and maintain a personal journal/sketchbook, using a variety of resources. (VI)
7. Describe and apply various methods of presenting visual symbols and expressions. (VII)
