Description: Overview of information, strategies, techniques, and resources available to detectives investigating property crimes, sex crimes, forged documents, and death investigations

6. Describe suspect profiles and their uses in investigating and solving crimes. (V, VI)
7. Describe the various types of property crimes and the use of confidential informants and the repeat offender program in solving them. (V)
8. Describe how documents are forged/altered. (VI)
9. Explain the Sexual Offender Notification Law and its application. (VII)
10. Describe proper techniques used in investigating sexual assault cases. (VII)
11. Explain the difference between SIDS and Shaking Baby death investigations. (VII, VIII)
12. Describe the different types of deaths investigated. (VIII)
13. Describe a preliminary course of action to be taken by a detective conducting a death investigation. (VIII)
