Description: Development of personal safety plans, confrontation avoidance, and effective self-defense tactics. Legal and safe use of firearms. Includes range practice



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Describe the conditions which can lead to personal danger at home or in a vehicle. (I)
2. Describe the difference between cover and concealment. (I)
3. Describe the laws governing self defense at home or in a vehicle. (II, V)
4. Describe methods for prevention of a confrontation. (II, V)
5. Prepare a home response plan for personal defense. (III)
6. Prepare a response plan for personal safety and defense in a vehicle. (IV)
7. Use proper and safe procedures for entering and exiting a vehicle. (V)
8. Demonstrate safe and proficient use of firearms. (VI)
