Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs), and Silicon Controlled Rectifiers (SCRs). Operating principles of integrated circuits and basic operational amplifier circuits

MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Define specific electronic terms and identify specific components of electronic systems including characteristics of solid-state devices and list the materials used to make them. (I, II)
2. Describe specific types of transistors and explain how they operate. (II)
3. Interpret electronic schematic diagrams and connect diodes according to the diagrams. (II)
4. Describe and connect light emitting diodes (LEDs) and silicon controlled rectifiers (SCRs) according to the schematics. (II)
5. Identify transistor leads of specific solid-state devices. (II)
6. Describe the advantages of operational amplifiers and list the three basic operational amplifier circuits. (II, III)
MCCCD Official Course Competencies must be coordinated with the content outline so that each major point in the outline serves one or more competencies. MCCCD faculty retains authority in determining the pedagogical approach, methodology, content sequencing, and assessment metrics for student work. Please see individual course syllabi for additional information, including specific course requirements.
