Description: Basic concepts of construction drawings, including terms and symbols. Drawing interpretation, use of drawing dimensions and recognition of drawing classifications.



MCCCD Official Course Competencies
1. Recognize and identify basic construction drawing terms, components, and symbols. (I, II, III)
2. Recognize different classifications of construction drawings. (I, VI)
3. Relate information on construction drawings to actual locations on the print. (II, IV, V, VI)
4. Interpret and use drawing dimensions. (V, VI)
5. Define standard abbreviations used in blueprint drawings. (V)
6. Describe the grid line systems used to identify plan locations and explain the purpose of dimensions used on drawings. (VI)
7. Describe blueprint production techniques, care of blueprints and specific company procedures. (VII)
8. Relate information on blueprints to specific parts and locations. (VIII)
