Description: Basic legal terminology used in the health care setting. Legal concepts related to health care employment, medical documentation, and communication. Introduction to regulatory requirements in health care.

2. Describe regulatory requirements and agencies which relate to health care professionals, occupations, and facilities. (II)
3. Identify legal guidelines related to documenting, authenticating, and correcting medical records. (III)
4. Describe current issues related to Health Information Technology (HIT). (III)
5. Apply legal guidelines in a variety of health care situations. (IV)
