| Statewide Update: | An online historical geology class was being developed using virtual field trips. Question arose as to how historical geology was transferring. Answer was that it transfers as an elective.
Test credits are not accepted from the military because they will not supply a copy of the tests. Discussion for Geology to be included as a science lab course for General Ed. but then group informed that the steering committee voted it down. Lab loading was discussed each 1 hour lab should give 1 credit. |
| University Curricular updates: | Shelly of U of A said there are always problems transferring because they treat all lower division courses differently. Question they ask is "does it count as General ED.
Beth of Prescott teach a Geology 100 class (2 credit) that students can take together with 109 ( mainly a field trip in lieu of 101. Coconino is developing a new 3 credit elective course called Energy, Water, and Climate Change. Maricopa has a priority of having a 1:1 ratio of 1 credit hr. for a 1 hour lab. |
