ATF (Program or Discipline): Political Science
Date of the ATF: 10/23/2020
Statewide Update: No real changes this year. Everyone is status quo and just getting through this changing time.

Discussion to re-evaluate the IB courses for standard level for Political Science. IB requested that we look at them again. Tabled for next year. Requested new information from IB for Political Theory IB course.
University Curricular updates: No curricular updates from universities. No real changes. ASU wanted to remind everyone about the politics and economics degree that was started 3 years ago.

NAU: Changed their research course but, as it was a 300 level course it did not impact anything.
Community college Curricular Updates: No real changes.

Mesa: Political Science is listed on the health and human services guided pathways for their school. Talked about the creation of a partnership with UofA law school for some introductory courses.

Pima: Erich Saphir 20 minute discussion with the 3 universities about a politics and law course he wanted to create at his school and wanted to know if they would accept the course for credit at their universities. NAU was not present for this but UofA and ASU stated that it would probably just be elective credit.
Suggested changes to matricies: No changes to course matrix across the board.

Should we change our POS 120 course to be POS110 and reflect the SUN course number better? Most Community Colleges call that course POS110.

Volunteering: I did not volunteer. Next year chair is Brian Dille from Mesa Community College. It will be a virtual meeting on October 22, 2021.
Additional Comments: Should we offer another of the 4 courses that transfer for actual credit at a university in political science?

From 2013-2019 there were 4,959 graduates in Political Science. 977 of those were transfer students from community colleges.
